Honeycomb Forest Protection Case

Forestry is one of the important parts of the national economy, in maintaining economic and social development has an indispensable role. As of March 2020, China has a forest area of 220 million hectares, forest coverage of 22.96 percent, is not only a large country of forest resources, but also a country prone to forest fires. Therefore, how to apply high-tech means to forest resources monitoring, early detection of fire, early prediction, early extinguishing, disaster for small disasters, disasters for disaster-free has become a major issue in forest fire prevention work to be solved urgently.


UAV medium- and low-altitude monitoring has the technical characteristics of fast maneuverability, low cost of use and simple maintenance operation, and has the ability of ground-to-ground rapid real-time inspection and monitoring, and is a new type of medium- and low-altitude real-time television imaging and infrared imaging rapid acquisition equipment. It has its unique advantages in the monitoring of resource environment, forest fire monitoring and rescue command in the area where cars and people cannot reach them.


Solution


Honeycomb offers solutions for forest patrol and fire protection, using fixed-wing and multi-rotor drones. Among them, HC-521 vertical take-off and landing UAV equipped with dual lens camera for large area of the forest, round-the-clock patrol, multi-rotor including HC-332 six-rotor UAV equipped with visible light camera and HC-342 six-rotor UAV equipped with high-efficiency fire extinguishing bombs, can quickly reach the fire, fire fighting tasks, to avoid the spread of fire, real-time monitoring of the fire.


Fixed wing forest inspection

HC-521(Daily inspection)

HC-521VTOL fixed wing UAV is with full independent landing system, lowered the request for landing field.

At the same time, compared with multi-rotor drones, it has the advantages of long life and large operating radius, and can be used for complex forest operations.

Camera(30x Dual lens camera)

Cam-M30 Tir dual lens camera with high-precision professional three-axis stabilization zoom pod, using high-precision encoder FOC control scheme, with high stability, small size, light weight, low power consumption characteristics. The camera is available in 4 million effective pixels, supports 30x optical autofocus, and HD 1080P recording. Internal two video streams, all the way 1080P 30FPS local H.264 compression, stored in the device, the other way output 1080P 60FPS format HDMI signal, used for wireless transmission, for aerial photography application characteristics, design. Fast focus, integrated function, compact size, support for PWM and serial control.

Multi-rotor forest fire protection system


HC-332 (close to spot, real-time disaster report)


HC-332 is a six-rotor UAV with universal mounting capability, the whole aircraft uses carbon fiber composite material, the fully enclosed design of the fuselage can effectively prevent debris from entering the aircraft, the arm is removable design, convenient transportation, diagonal spool sbagger 1.560m, taking up a small space. It can carry different mission loads to complete normal inspection, two-dimensional/ three-dimensional aerial survey, special equipment carrier and other tasks, the platform has full autonomous flight capability. The system has the following technical features:

HC-342(Carry fire extinguisher missiles

HC-342

Is an oil-electric hybrid UAV, the duration of up to 2 hours, breaking through the industry's application of multi-rotor drones short life barriers, 12kg super-load capacity, carrying fire-fighting projectile launchers, can be mounted 3 fire-fighting bombs at a time.


Fire extinguisher missiles(QWMB-1)

QWMB-1 Water-based forest fire extinguishing bomb is a new fire-fighting equipment developed by Honeycomb  for forest fire, using mature military technology and using new water-based fire extinguishing medium. This product is mainly used to suppress, put out forests, shrubs, grasslands and other places of fire, but also can be used to suppress, put out exposed cargo yard storage of general materials fire (A, C fire). Especially suitable for personnel can not or not easily close to the scene of the fire, fire play a repressive role in order to finally put out the fire purposes.


Servo stabilization platform


Servo stability platform is the UAV system to target the operation of the executive body, through camera to achieve the detection of the fire source target, mounted under the fire extinguishing bomb launch angle adjustment, to achieve the target within the range of the precise target, high-altitude long-range fire extinguishing bomb and other functions.


Launcher


Fire extinguisher launchers are used to load fire extinguishing bombs, and the upper part of the fire extinguisher launchers is the fire extinguisher part. The transmitter is equipped with an auxiliary launch aiming device, which is precisely aimed with the image of the photoelectric load back to the ground. Fire extinguishing projectile launcher uses balanced launcher to provide launch guidance for fire extinguishing projectiles, reduce the impact of post-launch seat force on multi-rotor drones, and combine ballistic firing technology to achieve fire extinguishing projectile launch.


Fire extinguisher bomb

Fire extinguishers consist of projectiles, launchers. Fire extinguishing bomb is equipped with fire extinguishing agent components, fire extinguishing agent effective filling amount is not less than 0.6 kg, fire extinguishing coverage area of about 20m2, fire extinguishing projectile maximum range of 100m.


Typical use procedure

  1. The fixed-wing system provides periodic patrols.

  2. Find the fire and return the location information of the fire.

  3. Determine the size of the fire based on an infrared camera.

  4. Additional HC-332s were deployed to the near-fire field for reconnaissance.

  5. Small fire HC-342 brought fire extinguishers to the scene.

  6. Additional fire brigades were deployed to provide firefighters with the best route to the fire and a long-term stay on site to monitor fire trends.
